I am from Oklahoma so there was hardly ever any snow, just rain and ice storms. And of course lots of wind.

My computer died on Friday. I am sorry if any one tried to IM me or send me a email and I did not respond. Today after lots of research and shopping I purchased a MacBook Pro and I got a free Epson printer. I am still learning how to use a Mac since I have been using a PC for forever. The only time I have use a Mac was 6 years ago while I was temping and I only use one for about 2 weeks. It is very user friendly but there are some things that I have not figured out how to use yet. Thank you Instantexpert for helping me find said computer, down loading my pictures from my old hard drive and setting my new computer up. I know that it was a lot of work and I appriciate you. I am using a different program to write LJ posts so bare with me while I figure out how. I don't know how to post pictures or do a LJ cut so my pictures dont take up the whole page.

Friday I went to the charity screening of "Serenity" to benefit Eqality Now http://www.equalitynow.org/ I had a blast! I cry every time I see the movie. Zoe and Wash remind me of balthasaarcherylsterling . I still am not sure if there is a Jayne in my life but cunningminx made a great Inara



The men's winner of the costume contest was dressed as Jayne.



I did not dress in costume but I wish I had. I did have a fake mohawk.



Dagmar was dressed as Zoe, erzulie was dressed as Kaylee and cunningminx was dresses as Inara.



They each had to do a quote from the movie or tv show for the costume contest. It was cunningminx who stole the show flirting with erzulie



Sorry that I don't know how to hide he pictures yet, maybe next week I will figure it out.

Busy day today. I have to go to work for at least four hours and then maybe a festival. Happy Birthday tlove666 and erzulie. I am sorry that I wont see you at the club tonighterzulie but I hope to see you for dinner. I may also go to a movie tonight or maybe watch one I have rented. Last night I had fun at "Can't stop the Serenity" charity screening of Serenity. cunningminx won first prize in the costume contest and erzulie, dagmar and cunningminx looked great dressed up for the show. I did not have a costume but had a blast and even cried. I took pictures but I have to go to work so I will post later.

I am working long hours and not getting much sleep. I may have to take some sleeping pills. I have to work Saturday morning to catch up. I am so tired. I wanted to post some pictures and write some stuff. I have enjoyed reading everyones posts.

I was renting a movie, when I found Pop Rocks. I have not eaten them but I think I will soon and with gleee. It has been years since I eaten any kind of Pop Rock but look at the variety. I bought one of each.



On a kind of sad a sick note, the city has closed down the KFC right by my house. I used to eat there and now I am worried. That was also one of my sources for stickers. I guess I will have to look somewhere else to buy paperdoll stickers of Brats.

I love BBQ! I went one last night that was pirate themed and I had to be silly.

I was not the only one being silly.



The bugs loved me but not many bites. They just wanted to crawl on me and get smacked. There lots of lighting bugs but I did not get a picture of them.

I miss my daddy. He never cared about holidays and even would forget his own Birthday. I keep seeing comercials on TV for Fathers Day sales and I start to cry. I miss him.

This evening I was at the Garfield Conservatory http://www.garfield-conservatory.org/niki.htm for a work party. I had so much fun and ate a lot. There were fruit bouqets from http://www.fruitflowers.com/homepage.html?loc=AK which monkeyfetish got me last year for my birthday. There was a raffle and I won a fruit basket. My co-worker took it home and will bring it to work tomorrow since I am taking the train. Befor ethe party started I took a walk around and took these pictures









I want to go sometime in the day and see the rest of the art exhibit. Is anyone interested?

I am going thrifting Sunday for some new clothes. There are two thrift stores right by my house and more down at Damen, North and Milwaukee. Is anyone up for shopping?

Friends,There is a heinous ordinance affecting public art in Chicago 
coming backbefore the City Council Wednesday the 13th of June.For the past 
3 days I've been working closely with Olga Stefan of theChicago Artists Coalition.  
She has done a great job of leading a discussionwith Greg Knight and others from 
Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs topursue a compromise ordinance where 
we and they would negotiate until wefound an ordinance we could all live with.'
Greg Knight in particular demonstrated a willingness to listen and a desireto 
engage in purposeful negotiations.  Unfortunately, this afternoon Mr.Knight 
stated that the Department of Cultural Affairs had already made uptheir mind.  
To us, it didn't sound like he was speaking for himself.Their proposed ordinance 
is bad for Chicago Artists, bad for our citizensand just plain bad for Chicago. 
We need to act and act quickly if we want to avoid getting screwed.  Please

I went to the TNGC munch this evening and I kind of wish that I had not gone. It was great to see my friends and meet new people but...

1. The service was slow, so slow that they gaveralinad order to someone else.
2. It was very hot and sweaty but not in a good way. I had to peel my butt and legs off the chair when I left.
3. When I crossed my legs under the table a piece of metal from the table cut my leg. I have a band aide on it now.
4. Did I mention the heat and humidity.
5. I was going to meet up with tlove666 and he did not show.

Ok thats enough complaining. Good things about the munch

1. I got my head scatched twice and I even got a noogie.
2. Great food, I even ate something new.
3. I had a orange Fanta. I love Fanta! "Do you wanna, wanna, do you wanta Fanta"
4. Talked with friends.
5. Had on cute dress and cute shoes.

I guess things evened out. I am sleepy so that makes me alittle cranky.


I am so tired going to sleep soon.

I found out today that I can not post pictures. Damn! monkeyfetish told me that I would have to get a paid account and even then its not easy. I guess that I will have to email pictures to people or print them out at walgreens to show them to everyone. ralinad and monkeyfetish make it look so easy.
